Hey there,

These days, I like to spend my free times watching Korean TV shows. These are some of the TV shows that I watch. Which one is your favorite? Enjoy : D

1. Runningman (런닝맨)

♥This TV show airs on Sundays. 7 permanent members are Yoo Jae Seok, Ji Seok Jin, Haha, Gary, Lee Kwangsoo, Song Ji Hyo, and Kim Jong Kook. Running man was originally about taking member’s name tags off their back and getting them out, but these days, contents got really creative. Guests (Kpop artists/celebrities/comedians) appear almost every episodes. In their most recent episode, they were in Dubai. In another episodes, they did food missions.

2. Laws of the Jungle (정글의 법칙)

♥This TV show airs on Fridays. Members, with their leader, Kim Byung Man, go to different places around the world, especially jungles, deserts, and rivers/lakes. They have to survive in wilderness. They build their own house by cutting trees, find their food, and visit some of the tribes living there.

3. Produce 101 (프로듀스 101)

♥This TV show airs on Fridays. 101 trainees from 46 different entertainments compete to debut and become part of a unit girl group. Only 11 trainees can get the spots, and they are ranked A to F based on their skills. They also do team missions, and you get to vote for your favorite trainee. Jeon Somi from JYP entertainment (appeared in TV show “Sixteen”), Kim Se Jeong from Jellyfish entertainment, and Choi Yoo Jeong from Fantagio entertainment are the most popular ones among the others in Korea.

♥Their song, “Pick Me”, also became popular. The first time you hear it, you might think it’s weird, but this song is really addictive.

5. Tasty Road (테이스티 로드)

♥This TV show airs on Saturdays. Girl’s Day’s Yura and Kim Min Jeong travel around Korea and visit famous restaurants/cafes. They eat the menu there and explain how it tastes like.

6. Take Care of My Refrigerator (냉장고를 부탁해)

♥This TV show airs on Mondays. 2 MCs and 11 chefs greet 2 guests’ fridge and the chefs take ingredients from the fridge to cook a yummy dish in 15 minutes.

7. Weekly Idols (주간 아이돌)

♥This TV show airs on Wednesdays. Because of one of the MCs, Hyeong Don’s absence, k-pop artists become special MC each week. Kpop idols do random play dance, go over their profiles, and do other fun activities. 90% of Kpop idol groups have appeared in this show.

Korean Instant Noodles/Ramen Top 10

large-3

Hey there,

Sorry for not posting so long! I was injured, so I couldn’t blog for a long time 😦

Anyways,  I decided to write a post about Korea’s instant noodles! Most Koreans love instant noodles, including myself. Through a research, it was proven that each Korean eats about 74 instant noodles per year! That’s like eating it at least once a week. The instant noodles listed in this post were voted by Koreans. These were also introduced in Korean TV show called “Wednesday Food Talk”. Which one do you personally like? I hope you guys enjoy them 🙂

1. Paldo Bibim-myun (팔도비빔면)

♥It is a bit spicy, and you can enjoy this noodle even more if you add sesame oil and black sesame seeds. (Some people put cucumber on top, too)

2. Buldak Bokkeum-myun (불닭볶음면)

♥This is so spicy!! If you don’t like spicy stuff, don’t use the whole pack of sauce.. This ramyun is popular especially among students. Some of them eat this to get rid of their stress. You can add an egg, a slice of cheese, sesame seeds, and seaweed to add more flavour.

3. Shin Ramyun Cup Noodles (컵라면)

4. Jin Ramyun: Spicy Flavour (진라면 매운맛)

♥There’s also less spicy flavour, written in blue print, but people like this spicy flavour better.

5. Yukgejang Ramyun (육개장 라면)

♥This ramyun is really good! I like the little toppings >< Koreans liked this ramyun since 1982.

6. Samyang Ramyun (삼양라면)

♥Eat this ramyun with kimchi 🙂

7. Neoguri Ramyun (너구리)

♥This ramyun got its name from tanuki udon. I personally like this one ><

8. Ansungtangmyun (안성탕면)

♥You can add scallion and egg to add more flavour. This ramyun also tastes well if you eat it without cooking it. Just break it into bits and sprinkle the powder sauce on top.

9. Jjapaghetti (짜파게티)

♥This is like instant black bean noodles. You can add cheese, half-cooked egg, sesame seeds, and seaweed on top.

10. Shin Ramyun (신라면)

♥This ramyun has been ranked the first for 25 years. It is spicy, but not as much as buldakbokkeum myun. It got its name from Chunho Shin, the CEO of its brand “Nongshim”.

Korean Ice Cream Shops Top 5

Hey there,

Today’s post is similar to the yesterday’s one….It’s about ice creams : ) Today, I ranked one of the most popular ice cream shops in Korea and added recommendations, menus, and other facts about the stores….Enjoy and if you have any other suggestions, leave a comment or contact me by my email : D

1. SOFTREE

♥Softree was a very popular Korean ice cream brand that had 33 stores in Korea and one in Hong Kong. I don’t know about the shop in Hong Kong, but for the one in Korea, you would have to line up for a long time for this ice cream. The shops in Korea are all closed now, and I don’t understand why people did this (It has been a long time since I’ve been there, but I thought it was an amazing brand! : ( )…

♥Its ice cream was made of organic milk from an organic farm in Korea. The most popular menu was “Honey Chips”, which was a soft, milk ice cream with original honey chips, but there are other good ones such as “Liquid Honey”, which is milk ice cream with honey syrup, and “Magic Lamp”, which is milk ice cream with caramel sauce and biscuit crumbs.

♥All ice creams are sweet, and they have a light, but rich milk flavour. Some say they are like frozen yogurt except better, and others say it has a sweet, creamy taste of vanilla and sticky, crunchy taste of the honeycomb.

♥You can chose whether you want it in a cone or a cup. The cones were in different colors.

♥It was a perfect dessert for those who prefer organic, healthy ice cream that is sweet.

2. REMICONE

♥Remicon is another Korean ice cream brand. Their stores are an ice cream parlor that has wheels (not actually wheels of course…). They have several shops in China too. The most famous one in Korea is near the Garosugil. The Song triplets, Dae Han, Min Guk, and Man Se, from the Return of the Superman (a TV show) also enjoyed eating this ice cream.

♥They have 3 options of ice cream, which are milk, salted caramel, and real chocolate. After choosing the ice cream, you can pick any toppings and sweets of your choice, such as honey caviar, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, mango syrup, cotton under, macaron, hazelnut crumble, honey chip, french crepe, and more.

♥”Thunder Bomb” is the famous menu there. It has a plain vanilla ice cream base with grey fluffy cotton candy and a little lighting bolt candy. Some say the cotton candy itself taste a bit weird and minty, but if you eat it with the ice cream, it tastes very good.

♥Another choice that I recommend is Hawaiian beach.

♥ People say it doesn’t taste very special and delicious, but it is sure fun to eat, thanks to its unique appearance. When you are about to eat this ice cream, make sure you snap a photo of it because it’s so amazing, especially in a visual way.

3. GELATI GELATI

♥The most famous Gelati Gelati shop is located in Hongdae. It’s possibly the best gelato shop you’ll find in Honda because the owner studied how to make gelato in Italy (you can see his certificate hung on the wall in the shop). They have their own gelato laboratory, where they produce gelato. There is always a huge line there, full of people who came to taste this awesome gelato.

♥You can order two flavours for a single in a cup or a cone (you can order the cone with chocolate inside). There are two types of ice cream: gelato and sorbet, each with 16 different flavours. Flavours vary; they even have ice cream that is hallabong (orange except bigger), grape, peach, plum, carrot, rice, caramel, and milk tea flavoured. They also have  daily specials such as cherry pistachio. Ice creams are scooped with a huge spoon.

♥Some people ordered Tiramisu gelato and watermelon sorbet. They said the tiramisu was so creamy and smooth while watermelon sorbet was refreshing.

♥Others recommend rice (because although rice might sound a bit unusual, it was actually amazing), cherry, pistachio, yogurt, and milk. Gelato tastes very soft….yeah SOFT.

♥You should definitely try this sometime when you visit Korea’s Hongdae.

4. PENGUIN MACARON

♥Penguin Macaron is the first ice cream shop in Korea to sell macaron ice cream sandwiches. The first shop was built in Hyehwa, but now you can find this shop in Seoul and Busan too.

♥All products are made fresh each day. Because they sell a limited amount of sandwiches each day, there is a long line of people in front of the store before its opening hour.

♥There are six flavors of ice cream, which are green tea, fresh cream cheese, strawberry, banana, bischoco (biscuits with chocolate), and chocolate. When you order the ice cream, the staff will pick the best macarons that go with it.

♥Most people recommend cheese cake and strawberry flavours. Some people find the macarons too sweet, but if you eat it with the ice cream, the sweetness will even out and you’ll find a perfect match. It is also very chewy.

♥This ice cream is a #1 option to try during summer.

5. BRICKPOP

♥Brick Pop is located in the Shinsegae Department Store. This store sells real fruit juice popsicles. They look exactly like what is in the popsicles, and tastes exactly like what is in it. It looks so pretty, with pieces of real fruit frozen inside. They also have a few chocolate ones.

♥Some popsicles are a blend of different fruits such as strawberry, raspberry, orange, lemon, and banana.

♥Out of lots of flavours, I recommend strawberry, milk 1981, and grapefruit. I don’t recommend avocado because some people say it tastes like soap..

♥It is kind of expensive, but worth the price. Try it if you go to the Shinsegae Department Store!

Korean Ice Cream Top 8

cute-ice-cream-pikachu-pokemon-Favim.com-299897.jpg

Hey there,

Today I decided to make a post about some of Korea’s popular ice creams : ) Which one is your favorite? If you have any other suggestions, comment or contact me by my email! Enjoy and thanks♥

P.S. Names were translated from the Korean ones, so it may sound a bit weird. Also, most ice creams will have names with “Bar” at the end. It’s just common in Korea to put that at the end of most ice cream names.

1. Melona (메로나)

♥ This ice cream is soft, milky, honeydew melon flavoured. There are other flavours too, such as mango, strawberry, milk, and banana. But people like the melon one the best.

2. Jaws Bar (죠스바)

♥ This popsicle got its name from the famous movie called, “Jaws”. It’s gray on the outside, but has a strawberry/orange filling inside.

3. Seolleim (설레임)

♥ This ice cream is stored in packs; you squeeze it out of its plastic pocket. The taste is similar to milkshakes, and is very soft. The flavours include coffee shake, milkshake, cookie cream, orange mango, and banana shake.

4. Dweji Bar (돼지바)

♥ “Dweji” means pig in korean…^^;; Anyways, this ice cream has a crunchy, choco layer on the outside, soft vanilla ice cream in the middle, and strawberry jam on the inside.

5. B-B-Big (비비빅)

♥ This is a classical red been ice bar. It has chunky texture of red beans and smooth taste of milk. If you like patbingsu, you might as well as like this one.

6. Deowi Sanyang (더위사냥)

♥ You can eat this ice cream by splitting it into two, or as a long ice cream. The flavours include coffee, orange, kiwi slushie, milkshake, kakao, and strawberry.

7. Screw Bar (스크류바)

♥ This ice cream is apple-strawberry flavoured. It is twisted, just like a screw.

8. Samanco (붕어 싸만코)

♥ This is like an ice cream sandwich. This ice cream dessert is similar to bungeobbang, which is a famous Korean snack (red beans/custard cream inside the waffles shaped like goldfish). Vanilla ice cream and red bean jam can be found inside the thin waffle.
